Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 27 June 2026

SnapDeck is for capturing what you learn: the slides in a talk, lecture, course, or conference you are entitled to keep, turned into notes you can search. This page sets out what that does and does not include. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. What SnapDeck is for

Use SnapDeck to capture material you have the right to capture and keep, for your own learning and records. Think conference talks, lectures, training sessions, webinars, and your own slides. The point is to keep the content, not a camera roll of blurry photos.

2. Only capture what you are allowed to

SnapDeck is not a tool for taking confidential or sensitive decks. You are responsible for having the right to capture and keep every slide you photograph.

You must not use SnapDeck to:

  • Capture confidential, proprietary, or commercially sensitive material you are not authorised to take. This includes internal company decks, client material under NDA, and anything marked confidential or restricted.
  • Capture the personal or sensitive data of other people without authority, such as names, identifiers, financial details, or health data. Where such detail is incidental, redact it or avoid the slide.
  • Capture anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's intellectual property or other rights.

If you are not sure whether you are allowed to keep a slide, do not capture it. When in doubt, ask the speaker or organiser for the deck instead.

3. Do not misuse the Service

You also agree not to:

  • Scrape, systematically collect, or bulk-extract content through SnapDeck.
  • Use SnapDeck's output to train or fine-tune machine-learning models without our written consent.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or probe the Service, or interfere with its availability or security. Responsible disclosure is welcome at hello@insights-2.com.
  • Share your account, resell or sublicense access, or use the Service on behalf of someone subject to sanctions that apply to us.

4. Your responsibility

By capturing a slide, you confirm that you have the right to capture and keep it. SnapDeck acts on your instruction: it processes the image to extract text and then discards it. As set out in our Privacy Policy, we keep no copy of your photos or the extracted text. That also means we cannot recover a deck for you after a session ends.

5. If you break these rules

Depending on how serious the breach is, we may:

  • Ask you to stop and put it right (usually the first step for an honest mistake).
  • Suspend your account while we look into it.
  • Terminate your account for cause under the Terms. Where the breach involves abuse, fraud, or unlawful use, no refund is payable.
  • Report unlawful conduct to the relevant authority where the law requires it.
