Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 June 2026

These terms govern your use of SnapDeck. They are written to be read, not to trip you up. The short version: capture only what you are allowed to, the slides and text are yours, and we keep no copy of them.

1. Who you are agreeing with

By using SnapDeck ("the Service"), operated by INSIGHTS-2, a sole-proprietorship registered in Singapore (UEN 53523643C), trading as Insights² ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What SnapDeck is

SnapDeck lets you photograph presentation slides and converts each one into clean Markdown text and a PDF you keep. The conversion is done by an AI vision model (see our Privacy Policy). It is a tool for capturing material you are entitled to keep, for your own learning and records.

3. Your account

You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. One account per person. Keep your email account secure, give us accurate information, and do not share access or impersonate anyone else.

4. Acceptable use

Your use of SnapDeck is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary, you agree to:

  • Capture only content you have the right to capture and keep.
  • Not capture confidential, proprietary, or commercially sensitive material you are not authorised to take, including internal company decks and material under NDA.
  • Not capture the personal or sensitive data of other people without authority.
  • Not scrape, systematically collect, or bulk-extract content.
  • Not reverse-engineer the Service, and not use its output to train or fine-tune machine-learning models without our written consent.
  • Not resell or sublicense access to the Service.

5. Your content

The slides you capture and the text we extract are yours. We claim no ownership of them. You grant us only the limited, temporary permission needed to process an image and return the text to you. As set out in the Privacy Policy, we do not store your photos or extracted text. You are responsible for confirming that you have the right to capture and keep every slide you photograph.

6. Slides, pricing, and payment

  • New accounts include 50 free slides. Only slides you successfully extract are counted; capturing is always free.
  • You can buy a pack of 200 slides for US$5. A confirmed purchase raises your allowance.
  • Purchased slides do not expire.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
  • We may change prices or the free allowance in future. Changes apply to purchases made after the change; slides you already hold are unaffected.

7. Refunds

Slides are a digital good delivered as an allowance on your account. Slides you have already used are non-refundable. If something goes wrong on our side, contact us and we will put it right, which may include crediting slides back. No refund is payable where these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy have been breached. Nothing here limits any non-excludable consumer rights you may have (see section 9).

8. Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, and we aim to give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.

9. Disclaimers

AI extraction is not perfect. The Service can misread a slide, drop detail, or format text in a way you did not intend. Check the output before you rely on it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, and non-infringement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer rights you may have under Singapore's Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the EU Consumer Rights Directive, Australia's Australian Consumer Law, or any other consumer protection statute that applies to you and cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

Subject to the consumer-rights carve-out in section 9, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, business, data, or goodwill.
  • Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) SGD 100.
  • Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify us against any third-party claim, loss, damage, or reasonable cost (including legal fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, (b) your unlawful use of the Service, or (c) content you captured that you did not have the right to capture or keep. We will give you prompt notice of any such claim and reasonable assistance in dealing with it.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using SnapDeck at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where required by law. Where a breach involves abuse, fraud, or unlawful use, no refund is payable.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. For material changes that adversely affect your rights, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email before the new version takes effect.

14. Governing law

These Terms, your use of the Service, and any non-contractual obligations connected with them are governed by the laws of Singapore. The Singapore courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may bring proceedings against you in any jurisdiction where you reside or do business.

15. Disputes

Before starting court proceedings, both parties agree to:

  • Notify the other in writing, with enough detail to investigate.
  • Discuss the dispute in good faith for at least 30 days from the notice.
  • If it is not resolved, submit it to mediation administered by the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC), or proceed to the Singapore courts under section 14.
